We have a special prayer request for Bee Gee Gordon Langford. She has an appointment with the doctor on Wednesday morning at 10:30 (March 24th) to receive the analysis/diagnosis of the blood work and tests that she had completed the first of March.  She is not feeling well and is very concerned about the diagnosis. Please support her with your prayers and positive thoughts. Update: Bee Gee thanks you for your prayers as she was able to get into see three specialists on Wednesday, March 24th. The doctors have determined that she has polymyositis, inflammation of many muscles. She is on a high dose of prednisone. The doctors were encouraging to her in that her disease is treatable. She has requested that you continue with the prayers for her recovery for the next few months. Update: July 8th. Bee Gee has had a few more challenges. So please keep her on your prayer lists.

At our 50th reunion in Galveston, Yvonne Milner Kitchel and her Memorial Committee of Judy Lively DeLoach, Marilea Roper Ferguson and Nancy Hensler Warwick presented a very impressive ceremony remembering 82 fallen classmates. A celebration of the lives they lived was memorialized in song by Arthur Butaud, the roll call was read by James O'Sullivan, and a prayer was delivered by Bee Gee Gordon Langford. There was a display with a picture of each deceased classmate and each deceased classmate had their name written on a sand dollar.  As the classmate's name was called, a member of the class of 1956 put the sand dollar in a basket. These sand dollars were then sent out to sea from Galveston Beach.

I received a message from Mia Loving on the website March 14, 2010.

“We were at the beach March 13, 2010 and found a sea shell with the name Patsy Maroney Fugua. I googled her name and found your website. If I understand right it has been at sea for 4 years.”

Isn’t this wonderful?  I talked to Mia this afternoon. She said the shell was found on the west side of the Flagship. It was only half of the shell but the name was in tact. Thank you, Mia for contacting us.
